This article explains how the original Androbot TOPO I robot was controlled and goes over alternate methods to replace the transmitter module that is often lost for these robots. One way is to modify an old Futaba 27Mhz Radio to control the robot without making any alterations to the robot itself. There are also suggestions on how an entire replacement remote could be used without altering the original electronics. It also covers how TOPO could be controlled with a more modern microcontroller like the Arduino or Parallax Propeller.
